Cookie Policy
Every cookie this site sets and every third-party script it loads, with what each one does and how to refuse it. Where we previously described this inaccurately, this page now says so.

Cookies we cannot operate without
Two cookies keep you signed in. They are set by our authentication provider only once you actually sign in, and they carry an encrypted session token rather than any personal detail. If you never create an account, neither is ever set.

These are strictly necessary to deliver a service you have asked for, so they do not require your consent. Blocking them means sign-in stops working, and with it access to any report you have purchased.

Analytics and advertising cookies
BuyerIQ also loads three third-party measurement and advertising scripts. These are not strictly necessary: the site works without them, and they exist so we can see which pages are useful and whether our advertising reaches anyone. They load only if you accept them, and the table below was compiled by accepting in a clean browser and reading back every cookie that actually appeared.

Google, Microsoft and Reddit are independent controllers of the data their own scripts collect, and each processes it under its own policy rather than ours. All three are United States companies; transfers are covered in our privacy policy.
Being straight with you
An earlier version of this page said BuyerIQ used no analytics, advertising or third-party cookies at all. That was wrong, and it had been wrong for some time. The table above lists what the site genuinely loads today, and we would rather correct the record plainly than quietly restate it.

Measurement that uses no cookies
We also run a cookieless analytics service, hosted in the European Union, which stores nothing on your device. It sets no cookie, assigns no persistent identifier, and cannot follow you to another website. It needs no consent and runs for everyone. Where it can answer a question we prefer it, because it answers the question without collecting anything about you.

Refusing them
You can refuse the optional cookies without losing any part of the service you have paid for. Nothing on this site is gated behind accepting them.
- Your browser. Every major browser can block third-party cookies outright, and most now do so by default. In Chrome: Settings, then Privacy and security, then Third-party cookies.
- Google Analytics. Google publishes a browser opt-out add-on that disables it across every site.
- Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control. Clarity honours the browser Do Not Track signal.
- Blocking the scripts. Any standard content blocker stops all three from loading at all.
Clearing cookies for buyeriq.ie also clears the two essential ones, which signs you out. Your account and any report you have purchased are unaffected: sign in again and everything is where you left it.

Consent, and where we stand
Under the European Communities (Electronic Communications Networks and Services) (Privacy and Electronic Communications) Regulations 2011, cookies that are not strictly necessary require your consent before they are set. The essential session cookies described above fall outside that requirement. The analytics and advertising cookies do not.
So we ask. On your first visit you are offered Accept all and Reject all, given the same size and the same weight, because a refusal that takes more effort than agreement is not a real choice. Nothing in the second group is loaded until you accept, and refusing changes nothing about what the service does for you.
You can change your mind at any time using Cookie settings in the footer of any page, which clears the decision and asks again. Withdrawing has to be as easy as consenting.
